The plugin reduces the amount of code needed to embed and edit official Google Maps on a Web page.
GMaps.js was developed because most of the times both users and developers barely scratch the surface of the Google Maps service when embedding a map on a remote Web page.
There are lot of features rarely used on a map, which when integrated in a map are extremely useful and help users more than the standard Google Maps controls, look and UI.
GMaps.js aims to provide developers with a quicker way to take advantage of these features, without having to spend hours browsing the Google Maps API to do so.
The GMaps.js package also comes with plenty of usage instructions and examples.
