Benefiting from the quality of modern professional cameras, time LAPSE movie making is easy and efficient...

Are you a YouTube lover vying for attention? It might surprise you to know that while very simple, time-lapse movies attract some of the most attention among different types of videos. Be it a blossoming flower, a crawling snail, or the panorama of a great sunset, life is full of beautiful things that can be captured with camLAPSE. Of course, camLAPSE is also great for surveillance.

With camLAPSE, your movie is yours to control. You can determine everything, from capture frequency to the frame rate of the completed movie. camLAPSE is your ultimate tool for time-lapse movie generation!

* As the captured quality could be too high, We added an option to LOWER the captured picture resolution or video quality for those old Macs.

features:
- USB & FireWire HD Webcam, iSight Cam, and DV video devices are all supported
- capture interval can be freely set, from one second to 1000 hours
- Frames Per Second (fps) of the finished video can be set from 1 to 50
- Can save all your captured images in addition to generating the video
- if you set a long capture interval (30 seconds and above), camLAPSE will not hold your camera for that duration, meaning it is free to handle another task.
- will capture the highest image quality possible
- super-easy operation, step-by-step user guide included

No video

The video function did not work - it was able to take photos for each frame but unable to generate the video. The playback function disappears after recording, so the video doesn't work at all.

I contacted support and they told me my computer did not have the resources to process the frames that my HD webcam took. I have the 2009 Mac mini, Intel 2 core duo. My webcam is the Logitech HD C910. I requested that in later versions, they should add an option for quality and the formats for the output. The pictures that were taken were almost 9mb each. If I were to do a timelapse with 9000 frames (5 minute video with 30 fps), I would need 81 gb just to store the frames.

Only OK...

Pros:
• Uses the full resolution of my web cam; other software is limited to lower resolutions.
• Give you the option of reducing the resolution if the native resolution is too high.

Cons:
• Only saves a batch of images and seems to have no built-in utility for assembling those images into a movie. The right side of the application window says something about it being the Time Lapse Captured Movie, but right-clicking and selecting play does nothing, and there doesn't seem to be a way to save the movie to a file. I've emailed support, but given the earlier review, I'm not hopeful for much.
• Only saves files in .png format; no way to select another format.
• There are only two resolution options; full resolution and whatever you get when you click "Sacrifice capture quality to meet old and slow computers." Would be nice to have a menu item to select the resolution the camera captures.

I was hoping this app was a little more full-featured... maybe in a later release.
