Velocity.js was created to improve the way JS-based animations are handled, helping them rival CSS, WebGL, and HTML5 canvas animation routines.

Combining techniques and methods from jQuery, jQuery UI, and CSS 3 transitions, Velocity.js aims to be a faster, lighter, and above all cross-browser compatible animations engine for the Web.

The library  works like the default jQuery animation engine. Just write your jQuery-based animations, but replace $.animate() with $.velocity().

And on top of the default jQuery animate() features, Velocity.js also provides tools to deal with color animation, easings, class animation, transforms, loops, and scrolling.
